Can I just show up with my car or do I have to pre-register?

Just show up. Your vehicle must be checked before racing. Participants can showcase their personal vehicles. Upon arrival, experienced technicians inspect each car to ensure it meets safety and performance standards before giving the green light. Competitors can choose to race against others, fostering a spirited atmosphere packed with adrenaline, or they may opt for a solo run, focusing on beating their own best time. This approach not only emphasizes the pure joy and thrill of racing but also highlights the personal connection and pride owners have in their cars.

Can I challenge another racer?

Yes! On Friday nights, our community pulses with the thrill of competition, as we host callouts where members can challenge one another to races. This tradition not only fuels our passion for speed but also fosters a sense of camaraderie among participants. It’s a time when friendships are forged in the heat of competition, and respect is earned on the tracks. Whether you’re an experienced racer or a newcomer eager to test your limits, these Friday night callouts offer a unique opportunity to showcase your skills, learn from others, and experience the exhilarating rush of racing.

How long is your drag strip?

Our drag strip is 1/8 mile long.

CLOSE ACCORDION
What age of Juniors or teens can race?

Junior Dragsters and the Teen Challenge are both exceptional opportunities for young enthusiasts within the racing community, catering to different age groups. Junior Dragsters is for children aged 6 to 16, offering a safe and controlled environment for them to experience the thrill of drag racing, held on Saturdays and Sundays. Meanwhile, the Teen Challenge is for 13 to 18 year olds, where teenagers can develop their racing skills and compete during weekend events. Both programs aim to foster a passion for motorsports, teach valuable driving skills, and instill a sense of responsibility and sportsmanship in young racers.

Do you give away any trophies?

Yes, we do. On the weekends, our racing events come alive with the thrill of competition as participants are meticulously placed in categories within the Ladder system—Pro, Super Pro, and Top Competition. This structure ensures fairness and excitement across all levels of skill and experience. Highlighting these events, we award 1st and 2nd prize trophies, recognizing the dedication, skill, and passion of the racers. These accolades are more than just trophies; they symbolize the hard work and commitment of the competitors, further encouraging the spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie among participants.

What is your spectator area like?

We have bleachers for the audience, a food truck, and covered area for gathering for eating.

TRACK RULES

(subject to change)

All race vehicles must pass an IHRA Inspection. These are done by our technicians in lanes 6 and 7 prior to your race.

All drivers and pit crew must sign a waiver (https://okanaganautosportsclub.speedwaiver.com/efrky)

Left Lane (tower) has the right of way in the shutdown area.

Courtesy staging is the rule.

Byes will be decided in the following manner: First round for points will be the best reaction time in qualifying. following rounds – best remaining qualifying run – computer generates this information automatically. KOTH(Gamblers) is done by random selection by the computer. One bye per car-per race.

Any complaints must go to the TMR Executive, and the Tower is off limits.

Seasons’ points earned in any class are not transferable.

Speed limits – return road is 10 mph, pits are 5 mph.

After completing your run, return your vehicle to your designated pit area, pick up your time slip at the tech shack, and please be patient. You can make a pass faster than we can print a time slip!

Trophies are awarded to the winner and runner up.

King of the Hill (Gamblers) prizes is paid out to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd winners.

No firing of race cars between 9:00 PM and 8:00 AM, excluding night racing. If you choose to break this rule, it will result in immediate race suspension for the following day. NO qualifying points will be awarded, and NO time only’s will be allowed.

All running vehicles are to have a driver in the car.

DO NOT leave your vehicle unattended once it has entered the staging lanes.

One only support vehicle per race allowed in the pit area.

Ways for racers to get disqualified from race day: freak out on the staff (volunteers) (this includes pit crew, family and friends), drive in a reckless manner, cheat, drink or be impaired from the previous evening, smoke marijuana, partake in any illegal substance during the course of the race day (downtime due to lunch or the weather is still considered part of the race day), lie, steal, fail to follow staff direction, or by testing the transbrake in the staging lanes. THIS WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED.

No refunds, rainchecks only.

Rules For Bracket Racing with KOTH – Here’s How It Works

For this bracket racing there will be only 2 classes: Pro Class and TC/Super Pro. We will set up the tree of participants with a split tree for TC/Super Pro. If you are eliminated in bracket racing you can join in a King of the Hill race. This will encourage more seat time for new racers. Four races in 2024.

Will also work with Porta Tree to set up a True Start for red lights. This means if both cars go red the worst red light (reaction time) loses. We are working on running our races with special events. Rob and Pete are also looking at starting a Pure Streetcar Bracket.
